To manage this data, the company historically built reports manually, exporting data files from source systems such as its VAX, then loading data into Excel or Access files. WorkflowOne even spent 18 months developing a new operational Data Store to enable a better reporting environment for sales information, and developing a series of reports in SQL reporting Services that serve as the current sales dashboard. But this in-house sales dashboard was inflexible and users could not quickly or easily drill down into the data to the degree they needed to make important tactical and strategic decisions.
Using the Microsoft PerformancePoint platform, BlueGranite built a flexible and user-friendly sales performance dashboard for WorkflowOne that provides numerous essential filters for analyzing data in depth -- enabling the company's executives, managers and sales team to review data by customer, region and product type. The improved analytics will change how sales team members approach clients and sales opportunities, enabling them to make making better-informed decisions.
